"Since we were asking most of our guests to fly in from out of town, we wanted to make sure the entire weekend felt special. We put a lot of effort into our welcoming party, which was inspired by Renaissance Commedia Dell’Arte with circus performances by the Vau de Vire Society. For our wedding day, we drew from fantasy motifs, flora, and fauna. We wanted to transport our guests into something that felt like a forest folk tale. Finally, to say goodbye, we hosted a croquet brunch in the gardens of Filoli.
My wedding dress was custom made and designed by Paolo Sebastian in Australia. We had to get creative due to the pandemic, so I had meetings with Paul and his team through Skype. The dress has lace, beading reflecting leaves and vines, as well as 3D flowers and dragonflies. It was inspired by the "fragile wings of woodland fairries." This is a unique design Paul created for me after I showed him elements from several of his dresses I love."
