When choosing where to have the wedding, Andy and Jamie wanted a destination so their friends and family could bond. Given the time of year/weather and how they met, Napa was an obvious choice. They love to buy wine from Promontory, and fell in love with the architecture when they visited in person. They felt determined to incorporate it into our wedding weekend and landed on using it to host our arrival ball.
They chose Beaulieu Garden for the wedding day as they wanted a very classic looking venue to go with their aesthetic which was vintage elegance with a laid back provincial twist. I saw a picture of the "marthe ritz paris" charger plate which was the inspiration for the vintage french theme, and they planned a lot of the decor with those in mind. They wanted each aspect of the wedding to have something new/fun/surprising, so they used three different areas in Beaulieu. The garden for cocktail hour, the tree canopy area with views of the vineyard for the ceremony, and the arbor area for dinner and dancing. Since the Four Seasons in Calistoga was the base hotel for the weekend, they decided to throw the afterparty there, so we could keep the party going well into the night.
